Registered!

I'm so excited. I just registered for my first ACFW Writer's Conference, and I booked a room in the ACFW block as well, today. (FYI: The attendant on the phone noted that their rooms are going very fast for this block, so you may want to book soon if you're planning on attending.)

I'm even going for the earlybird session with Donald Maass. Now I just need to book my flight, and pray, pray, pray for God's guidance in all of this.

So, tell me, who all is going? Whom of my cyber friends am I to get excited about meeting in person in September? Is there a way we can all have breakfast together, perhaps, or join together in some other way?

Oh, and, my nieces wedding was beautiful!!! They are both so gorgeous and look so happy together. It was amazing on Friday. The stag and doe went well, other than for my lack-of-sleep breakdown and car accident at 2:00 a.m. while backing into a stop sign. I tell you, stop signs have no place being stuck in the end of a residential driveway, especially when you can't see the post in the dark. Arrrrrgh, that made me mad! Now to get my front end fixed.

Surrendering to Him,

Eileen

Eileen,

I wish I were able to attend the ACFW conference. Unfortunately I could only make one this year, the Mount Hermon Christian Writer's Conference in my home state of California, but it was awesome. I'm sure you'll have a blast at ACFW.

I'm glad the wedding was so wonderful. Sorry about your run-in with the stop sign though. Bummer.

I'm so excited for you to be able to go! I bet you meet so many of the bloggers.
I hope by next year I'll make it too!

Keli and Terri, I'm going to miss meeting you there. Hopefully one of these years we'll all be there to have one huge cyber party in person.

Oh, you're going to have so much fun at the conference! That's wonderful!

(Sorry about the stop sign incident, though) :(

So happy to hear about the beautiful wedding!

I am considering the conference a little, particularly because I live in Denver. AND, I really want to attend some of those classes.

I've never been to a conference before, though. Uh...it's intimidating.

Eileen Astels Watson said...

Jennifer, will you be attending?

Cindy: If you can drive to the conference, you should really consider it. What a savings that would be. You never know how long it would take to get back there again. But I totally get the whole intimidating thing. I've never been to one this large. 300 attendees is tops for me. I'll be praying myself through it.

The courses and teachers do sound awesome. I really hope to learn much from them!

Pray about attending, He'll give you the answer.

I'll be there, Eileen! My very first one! I can't wait to meet you!

I was assuming they reserved enough hotel rooms for the attendees. What would happen if the block ran out and there were no more rooms left??

Eileen Astels Watson said...

Yah, Katie, I look forward to meeting you too.

What would happen...?

I'm not certain, but the block held is at a special rate, so I'm sure there are other rooms available, just not at the conference rate. And I guess if they get filled then there are always other hotels in the area likely to stay at. I'm pretty sure I've heard of the block filling up ahead of time, but I'm not sure if they've ever had it where people have had to come from another hotel. There is a fully money back until the day of entry for cancellation, so you might just want to book the room now, and register later to spread the cost out. That's my suggestion, anyway.

Katie, they actually DID run out of rooms last year. SOme booked at hotels down the street and had to commute, so I'd highly recommend booking EARLY. We already have ours booked...

SO, I AM going and am SO SO SO SO excited I can barely keep from jumping up and down! Will LOVE to see all my blogging buddies there! You all are AWESOME and make this journey much more fun!

Oh boy, I'm so glad you mentioned the rooms. I'd better get to BookingIt. LOL

I'm SO excited!!!! My first conference I knew no one. I felt very alone. But this one... well, I'm just overjoyed to be able to meet all my blogger friends face to face. :-)

The conference sounds exciting and considering how many blogging buddies will be there I'm insanely jealous of you! Have a blast! I met Donald at last years BEA, he's a very nice man a little high pressured but has great idea's.

Eileen,
I tried to come over and post yesterday, but I couldn't get your little comment box to work! Anyway, I just wanted to say THANK you for making the registration for the hotel! I'm so glad that God has worked it out for us to stay together! And I think it would be a blast to have a blogging group breakfast or something!

Yikes about the mail box! But, hey, good idea for a future story, right?!

I'm registered, got the flight a month ago, and now my roomie/CP has booked the room. First time attendees!

I'm excited. I know God will bless us all in ways we can't even imagine and remember, it's not just a conference, it's a vacation. I love to get on a plane and go someplace new. I've never been to Denver.

I know when the time comes I'll start to get butterflies about the agent/editor appts. I wanted to have a completed ms, polished and ready to go, but that probably isn't going to happen.

I am excited to meet all the people I've met through ACFW and FHL and in these blogs.

Eileen I am just getting around to congratulating you on your finaling! That is quite an honor and will add to the excitement of the conference!

Debra

Yay! Yay! Yay! I'm so happy for you!! (Sorry about the stop sign. I manage to hit most things on the road, just not other cars :)

I'm not going to ACFW, but I'm going to the RWA national conference. It's exciting, isn't it? I know you'll have a fantastic time!
