Life is Getting Back to Normal

I hate to say that in fear that another blow will hit, but leaping out in faith here, I'm believing that along with my very painful breast infection, the troubles of late are healing and passing over.

I've been really wanting to share what I've learned through reading The Moral Premise written by Stanley D. Williams, Ph.D. Some amazing stuff is in this book, and I will reveal what struck me the most in a day or two.

My countdown begins for an upcoming Writer's Conference. In less than three weeks I will be in heavy learning and socializing-with-like-minds mode. I'm quite excited and yet equally unprepared. Is that God's plan? I sometimes wonder.

What about you? Do you have something big coming up soon? Please do share, and I'll add it to my prayer list.

Surrendering to Him,

Eileen

Hi Eileen,

I'll be at the conference with you and looking forward to sharing at least one meal together (plus our notes afterwards!). I'm also feeling excited and somewhat unprepared, though I did submit a manuscript for critique and signed up for 15-minute appointments with two of the instructors who will be there.

I also sent one of my picture book stories to 7 publishers yesterday, then discovered that an 8th is willing to look at it (through a networking contact). I'm hopeful that with such persistence, I will get at least one publisher interested in taking it.

Thanks for being such a faithful and encouraging blogger and person of prayer.

Susan

Hey, Susan. So looking forward to spending some time with you there and after with the notes. We'll learn so much that way.

I did sign up for the 15-minute interviews but I'm feeling so behind and stressed now that I'm seriously considering pulling my name out for others to get those slots. I figure I'll decide by the end of next week on this to give the coordinator heads up to give my spots away.

So much has happened this past few weeks that I haven't had a chance to submit a story for a critique. Life goes on.

Yes, and I wasn't aware of the breast infection - that sounds quite painful. I hope you are on meds and on the mend.

As for the fifteen minutes appointments, I don't know if I'd stress too much. Fifteen minutes will go by quickly, and as long as you have some kind of idea/agenda in mind, you will probably derive some benefit from the meetings.

ACFW!!! Woohoo. :-)
Sorry to hear about that infection. I had something like that when I had my first baby. OUCH!

So glad you are feeling and doing better! Your conference will be wonderful, won't it?
Nothing much exciting coming up--just keep praying we find meaningful work!

Ouch! I'll pray for you--not fun.

I'm going to the RWA National conference this July and am starting to think about my pitch. I already feel behind!

I'm glad your infection is clearing. Health issues are the worst, but hopefully/prayerfully things will be back to normal for you. Yay for conference!

Eileen! I'm so sorry to hear about your health issues. I've noticed your absence and have been wondering how things were going. I know for me, the extra writing stresses lately (while good) definitely affect my sleep and health! Maybe your first conference this summer will just be a warm up for ACFW in the fall. You'll have the chance to get a good start preparing, but then be even more ready for ACFW. God will open the right doors and the right time. He has thus far!

I have so much going on lately yet I feel God's presence so much and I have a lot of support. So...I am just going to keep praying for you, for healing and peace of mind and guidance on what to do and which direction to go in before the conference.

I love to pray for people. Thank you so much for the honor to pray for you. I will pray both for your infection and the conference.

I'm glad things are better! You'll have to keep us updated on the conference! ACFW is sort of coming up. Other than that... school is out and nine weeks of summer starting next Thursday. YAY!

Thanks for the offer of prayer. Big things coming up? Several this summer - Bible camps, youth trips. We'll be in prayer for you, too. Thanks! WB

Eileen, I will definitely be praying for you, girl. There's nothing like illness to affect EVERYTHING! I hope you are truly on the mend and feeling better.

You can pray for me and my husband as a church is in prayer and voting on his being hired there. We should know something on the 7th and if all goes well , he would start on Father's Day. God has been faithful, but things have certainly been...interesting. :)

Thank you all for your support, and thanks for the opportunity to pray for you, too.

Physically, I am almost totally without discomfort. Praise God for that! And mentally, I know I'm heading by the hour into a healthy space. With growth often comes much pain and need for forgiveness. Now that I can see the errors of my ways, forgiveness is being sought, putting procedures in place to help prevent this from happening again is taking place, and so now I'm finding time to rejoice and be joyful once more with anticipation of tomorrow rather than dread. Life is Good. God is even Better!
