Blog Snippet Week Begins

Due to NaNoWriMo obligations, and more importantly, my writing goal for November, I'm taking this week as blog snippet week. I'm limiting myself to visiting ten random blogs per day this week. Can't totally cut you all out, I don't need to deal with addict withdrawal while trying to get 20k words down, now do I?

I may comment, I may not, depending on how my word count is going each day, but I will, as always, enjoy broadening my horizons with you lovely, inspiring blogger friends.

I've created a line-up of short posts for the rest of this week. All geared around the spirit of Christmas. Hope you enjoy them! Notice my Christmas Day count down has begun?

Which brings me to today's question: Have you started counting the days until celebrating Jesus's birth in community with all Christians in the world yet?

32 Days until we widely celebrate Jesus's Birthday on Christmas Day around the World!

Surrendering to Him,

Eileen

Best wishes for meeting your goal, precious one! I like your countdown :)

I just realized that since changing my blog over that I wasn't signed in as one of your followers... so I just corrected that. Thank you Eileen for visiting and leaving your thoughtful comments. I understand your time is limited, but I do appreciate your visit. Hugs and blessings to you!

I'll confess I don't think about Christmas until after our Thanksgiving holiday. I pray to God each year that I'll make it through the commercial and material hubbub without being scathed, keeping the true spirit in mind.

Good luck NaNoing. The end is in sight!

Every year I become more and more aware that God loved little ole me enough to send His only Son. Words do little to express my gratitude.

No, I haven't even thought much about Christmas yet. Eeep.
Have a great week!

I don't think about Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving, too. But then on Friday it will be like a light switch is flipped and I will be so ready. :)

Oh goodness, I can't even begin to think about Christmas until Thanksgiving is over! I do love the spirit of the holiday and will be ready soon!

Get lots done, sweetie! And NO, I don't want to know how many days until Christmas!! EEEK! That means I actually have to start doing something besides writing! :-)

Although the countdown makes me nervous (for gathering gifts), YES I always look forward to the sweet spirit of Christmas around me as we celebrate the reason for our eternity.

Mental note to self: To keep that sweet spirit inside of me...stay away from Malls this Christmas season!

Is it THAT close? :)

I love this time of year. It's all wrapped up in God's present to the world. OUR SAVIOR.

And because of writing, I thank God for another present to us. Shopping on the internet. No, Al it wasn't you that gave us the internet. :)

Good luck on your final NaNo count down.

I haven't thought of Christmas yet either. I was sick and didn't make it to church yesterday. Hope I didn't miss the first day of Advent. I love Christmas season!!

I have thought about Christmas for a few weeks now, getting preparations done ahead of time so that I can enjoy the season at a more leisurely pace this year, enjoying the beauty of it. Best wishes with your writing this week!

Great idea! You have a lot of discipline. I can't believe the month is almost over.

Sounds like a good plan.
I am going to have to plan my writing, blogging, shopping, etc. time too. So much to do, so little time. But that's a good thing. :)

Thanks for the reminder that "Jesus is the reason for the season."

I usually wait until Advent, and I wonder where my candles are??? :)))

Trying to keep my focus on Him and not circumstances and surroundings. Usually when I turn the calendar to December is when the adrenaline starts pumping for Christmas. :O)

Yay for NaNo perserverence! I'm there with you. Today my goal is to hit 40K at LEAST.

Not counting days until Christmas yet. I'll wait until after NaNo to worry about it. :)

Have a great writing day!

I'm totally with you! I'm aiming to finish my NaNo story this month so I can get onto edits of three waiting wips next month. Godspeed. =)

Eileen, now I feel extra honored you stopped by my blog the other day. Good for you in doing what you need to do, and I love the countdown too! Our kids' school's Advent program is next Thursday. It always starts my Christmas season off right to see those little ones proclaiming the good news of the One who is to come!

I confess I have been having a hard time getting excited about Christmas this year. 2009 has been a hard year and I am not really in the mood to celebrate anything. But I guess I should try to lift my head and remember that Jesus is the reason anyway. And He is always something to celebrate :)

Eileen,
You are so creative! I especially love your closing words, "Surrendering to Him." May we do that every day, in our writing and every other way. Always!

Hi Eileen -

You can do it! We'll miss the attention, but you're on deadline here. :)

Last weekend, I finally started getting excited about Christmas. I received my first Christmas card today.

Blessings,
Susan
