Love Is...

Something Unexpected.

I think it's time for something unexpected to happen for my dear hubby. Hmmmm. What haven't I done, in oh, I don't know, at least fifteen years?

Oh, oh, I've got it. For me, that would be a candlelight dinner with fine red wine, and grilled steak to perfection. (Good thing I thought of this before the snow starts a blowing.)

What about you? What do you know that your hubby or significant other would love that you haven't done in ages? Could you try doing it this week?

Surrendering to Him,

Eileen

My hubby would enjoy the same meal (what is it with men and red meat?) , only mine would like a bit of whiskey instead.

Have fun.

Hmmm, Eileen, you've got me thinking today! I'll have to figure something out! He's been doing so much for me lately and so I really should think of something!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! And enjoy your dinner!

I must do this! Not the red wine dinner thing (which sounds amazing), but the unexpected. I haven't given him a back rub in forever. Or he loves when I randomly fill his car with gas, which I haven't done in forever either. Hmmmm....

Thanks for these Friday love posts.

Great ideas! Too bad my hubby probably wouldn't love that kind of thing. What he'd love is something sexual. *sigh*
Well, maybe he'd like me to feed his fish straight for a week? LOL!

Oh, funny! I wasn't going to write it, but Jessica did. So there. :D

I'll have to think on this. It's excellent you stir our thoughts like this!

We've only been together a year and a half, so we're still in that honeymoon stage, but I have neglected the lingerie of late!

For some of you: Notice how I try to keep a closed bedroom door policy here on my Love Is... posts, just like in my novels! ;)

But if your hubby's unexpected really would be around sex (and what man wouldn't love that!) then I say enjoy it--and by that I mean, REALLY make him want it! Ever cooked for him solely in an apron with those poofy high-heeled slippers tapping on the tiles? Remember, chores before pleasure, women! (Man, I hope my hubby doesn't read this!)

Eeek! LOL Eileen! That wasn't what I was expecting for your comment! *laughing in my chair*

No, I've never done this and by the time I'm able (when the kids are grown and gone) it probably won't be such a treat... *snort*

You're too funny!

I think I owe mine a backrub. He's been working really hard lately. Thanks for your Friday posts. They always inspire me to be kinder to my husband.

Gwynly discover a new walking trail right here in our Sierra Foothills town. Recently paved, the smooth black ribbon weaves its way through the rolling countryside south of town near the route the silver miners took to cross from Sacramento to the Comstock Lode on the Nevada side of the mountain range. At one point it crosses a historic railroad trestle spanning one of the area's many ravines. He's spoken often of this landmark and wanted me to see it, but I'm afraid of heights. Since the trail's improvements include protective railing on the sides, this weekend I'm going to be brave, join him on this walk and share in his fascination. But I doubt I'll look down. :)

Steaks? Yum! My hubby and I watched snippets of old eighties movies last night. We were snickering at the high-waisted pants. In one movie, a man was smoking in a hospital room! My, how times have changed.
Have a great weekend!

Does watching a Wallace and Grommit movie with him when you had planned on writing count? I did that Wednesday night. But then, he brought me a 2 lb. box of See's Candies from his trip to Portland, so I guess I still owe him...

Thanks for these great reminders, Eileen.

A night out with just me and my hubby would be a wonderful (and blessedly quiet) thing.

You always challenge me to think about these things. It will take some ruminating to come up with just the right thing. And his birthday is on Monday...I should probably cook. Haven't done that in ages. :D

I did things today that my hubby usually does, such as garbage and such. His weekends are in the middle of the week and because nobody is in the house, he does a lot of the picking up, etc. After today, my hubby should have nothing to do on his weekend and be able to sit back and relax. That is my plan anyway.

What an important thought. I'll really put some effort into something my husband will enjoy. Thanks for the push. :) And thanks for visiting Something She Wrote, too.
