Oh, the Possibilities!

Over at Inkwell Inspirations earlier this week brands and taglines caught my attention. Anita Mae Draper took it a step further with creating a visual icon or logo to represent her writing. How cool is that?

I'm no where near ready to delve into creating a logo yet, but that post sure had me thinking about my writing tagline. For the longest time I had Faithful Romances Worth Pondering stamped on this blog. But lately I've been switching it up, trying new arrangements--all starting with Faithful Romances, because that part I'm quite set on with the dual meaning of Faithful. Faithful as in Christian, and faithful as in true to the happily ever after scenario that romance novels offer.

If you look up, you'll notice I'm currently trying out Faithful Romances To Grow With in my blog header. What do you all think? I'm not big on ending with the word "with", but at a loss as to what else to use. You see, I consider Grow to have a double meaning here, too, just like Faithful does to me. Grow to me means that my writing is appropriate for even the youngest of romance readers, but it also implies that what I write inspires change, internal and spiritual, in the reader of any age.

Our names are our brand, but have you ever considered taglines that describes the type of stories you write? If so, please share. What are your thoughts on Faithful Romances to Grow With?

Next week I have a special guest dropping in and a giveaway. I hope you'll stop by to get in on the action.

May your weekend be fruitful and inspired, and if you haven't already committed to a tagline, may the perfect one come to you!

Surrendering to Him,

Eileen

Katie: I've learned that every authors name is their brand, but a tagline, I think, is a helpful tool to introduce yourself to people.

Karen Kingsbury is also known for her tag line, but her name stands alone as her brand. Lifechanging Fiction is her tagline. And boy do her stories live up to that.

I like it Eileen. :)

I always wonder about tag lines. I think they're fun, but I wonder if they are effective? Do people buy books b/c of them? For me, I buy books because of a name. I think an author's name becomes the brand. So lately, my goal is to brand my name. Use my name everywhere and write books and blog posts that are "me". Hopefully, my name will become my brand.

I actually took note of your Blog Name just last night, Eileen (for my own nefarious reasons, hee! hee!) and thought to myself what a great title it is because of the layers of meaning.

I agree with Katie that ultimately we want our name to be our brand. But I think a tagline in your signature line is a quick and fun way to let people who aren't familiar with your work know what you write. My tagline is: Romantic Suspense to inspire the soul.

I like your tag-line. Sometimes we have to fiddle with them, to change them as we grow as writers.

I like your tag line.

I put a caption under a picture on my blog and recently changed it to be a tag line. Just playin' with it.

I like it! I'm with you that our names are our brands, but it's fun to come up with a tagline to define our writing. Mine is "Tender Romance for Fierce Hearts."

I like Faithful and I like Growing, but it is a little bit wordy. Can you just say Grow with Faithful Romance?

I know I'm a hypocrite, since mine is On Wings of Mirth and Worth, and my tag line is Messages of Mirth and Worth.

Happy Weekend!

I like it! I've thought about writing a tagline before, but I'm a bit of a genre-hopper, so I'm not sure that would work. I do have a logo concept in mind... just have to find the budget to get it made!

Uh, I can create a tagline for every book, but I need one that goes under my blog's header that defines the kind of books I write. Great post. It has me thinking. <3

Happy Friday!

Jeanette, I thought it wordy too. I'll keep playing with it--that's the fun part.

Hi Eileen, I've been enjoying your blog and after doing a google search on the Liebster award, I discovered that it can be awarded to blogs with less than 300 followers, not just 200. So...I'm passing the award on to you. You can check out the details on today's post at my blog
