Does the Quiet get to you?

Hi, All:

I'm feebly inching my way back into what is known as "normal" living in my little world.

How about you? Do you come back after a healthy dose of family and loving feeling raring to go, or a little remorseful that the time has passed all too quickly?

As I work to find balance once more and an energy conducive to creative thinking, I'm blog hopping again and so looking forward to absorbing the wonderful nuggets all you lovely bloggers offer up so freely. Pray your time of celebration was met with love and much joy!

May we all find 2010 to be a year of growth and further understanding with God guiding each and every step we take. If He but tug hard when we tend to stray, we'll be truly blessed!

Surrendering to Him,

Eileen

It is hard to tear away from family. This year we had a marvelous time just being with one another. Even in the normal day to day activities it was nice to do it as a family.

We took down the Christmas tree yesterday and I was a bit sad!

Hey, Eileen! Great to see you again!

I'm always exhausted after. That has nothing to do with my family (because they are awesome) and everything to do with introversion. Sometimes you need holidays from holidays! I think I got a good mix of quiet and noise this time, though. I'm feeling okay... ready for this Monday! :0)

I always feel remorseful, although I do need my quiet and cleanliness. I miss my family but am happy my house is quiet and clean again. LOL
Raring to go though??? Not so much. LOL

I pray I'll follow Jesus this New Year too. Loved your line about him tugging us the right way. :-)

This year I'm going from one extreme (home with my hubby and son all last week) to the other (traveling out of town for work this week). I'm struggling to get back into work mode, but I think once I'm there the motivation will return.

Good to see you:) Am happy to be getting back into the normal routine. Although I'm not sure that I've ever defined exactly what my normal is...
Blessings!

I love not having to take the kids to their various activities, and just being able to sit around, play games, and enjoy each other's company. I miss all of the cuddles from the kids when they're at school. Life is short, and they grow up so quickly.

I relish the holiday cocoon, and am sad when I have to get up early and do all of the running around that comes with "regular life". That said, it's nice to have some time to myself to get things done once the munchkins are out of the house. :)

Isn't it hard to get back to normal? I think things haven't been "normal" in our household for so long, it's hard to say what we're getting back to. I'm kind of glad the holidays are over. I'm ready to move onto the bigger and better things of 2010 and the opportunity to appreciate my family every day, not just on the one's we deem are special (like Christmas or Thanksgiving).

I'm definitely praying for a super year for you and all our wonderful blogging friends.

You're so warm, Eileen, thank you for that!

The holidays were wonderful and blessed, and a snafu or two along the way really brought to home how much I do have to be thankful for. It all circles back around.

No, the quiet doesn't get to me... because I can't get enough of it. I mean this literally, of course, because I have two young ones - and I'm such a still thinker. But I try to relish it, because I know someday when they're grown and gone, that's when the quiet will seep in.

How am I not getting you on my dashboard? Happy New Year friend and a blessed 2010! All good things, right? XOXO

I'm glad you had such a nice break.

Sending my kids back to school today was hard. I really wish they could be home with me all the time, but I do get excited about getting things done! It's been a really productive day so far.

Usually I'm chomping at the bit, but today I had mixed feelings. Once I got into my revisions, the time passed quickly. It feels good to get something done although I thoroughly enjoyed my family as well as some downtime.

Between being surrounded by 20-30 people for most of the Christmas holiday week (with the extended family this year) and the nine hour (one-way) drive to get there and back, I spent my first couple of days at home fighting the urge to stay in bed all day!

Since I live alone and work at home, it's probably easier for me to ease myself back into a routine than for those who work and/or have kids. But this time, it's a matter of getting right back up on the horse---with a book due February 1 and only December and January to get it written, I can't afford to lose any time; so getting back to a daily routine is more important after this holiday season than any other before.

Hi Eileen -

I'm hitting that gas pedal after coasting most of December. It's good to get back into the groove. Vacations wouldn't be special if they were the norm. :)

Blessings,
Susan

Yes and yes. I'm already looking forward to other get-togethers with my kids (planning some football trips next fall) and even Christmas again!

I'm torn about returning to real life after the holidays. It was such a special time, but I also look forward to getting back into a routine. I also look forward to warmer weather. :)

We got a new puppy for Christmas, and with all the celebrations, I was ready to be back in the routine. Potty training is easier!

So nice to have you back!

Welcome back, Eileen! Good to see you blogging again :D

I LOVE LOVE LOVE routine. While I enjoy time off, I function best when immersed in the daily activities of life.

I usually have a very difficult time getting back into work-mode after a nice break. God was very gracious to me this Monday morning. I wasn't bitter of pouty or anything!

Glad to see you back in the blogosphere, Eileen!!

If it's time with my sisters, I am exhausted after just a few days, but there is no better feeling in the world. I love spending time with them. But I am always so glad to get back home, back to my bed and back to my life.

I am having a hard time getting settled back in. Today we dragged through school, I puttered on the WIP, and ran errands. Tomorrow is another day!

Sigh. I crave the routine of my writing day and LOVE packing up everything, resuming "normal" eating. In fact my fingers were crabby and ITCHED to write for at least a week of the holiday!

Sorry to be Scrooge.
(But I hate packing away Baby Jesus and the manger).

Will you still be my crit partner???

How can it already be January 4th. I finally took down my trees and decorations today. Now that my house is back to normal, mostly, I need to get my life back to normal.

It is hard coming back but I couldn't wait to hear about how everyone is and connect up again. Loved the break but this is what we do!:)
Good to come back over here. I can't wait to see what the new year will bring for us all:)

I was very excited to get back into the swing of things, but I was also remorseful at how quickly the time with my kids passed. I find I'm looking forward to school letting out so I can see them again.

Happy New Year to you too, Eileen! We haven't tried Cranium! But for some reason right now, my kids LOVE Scattegories! Glad that you had some wonderful times together with your dauaghters!

I hope you enjoyed your blogging break. I know I did! But I sure did miss everyone too! I'm back into a new writing schedule with my new book, with an increased daily word count. I met my goal yesterday, but it wasn't easy. During my afternoon time, the kids were running around the house like hooligans. I think everyone was still tired from their New Years Eve late night. So, I'm hoping for a better, more productive day today!

Hope you get in a good groove again too!

Happy 2010 to you! I think I'm usually reluctant to hop back into the regular. No raring-to-go for me. Hopefully I'll get back on track soon.

Eileen:
We have a small family. My sister-in-law has always chosen to be with some good friends over the holidays.
Due to health issues, we choose to have quiet times on our holidays.
I am glad that our situation is not the norm for other people. I have gotten used to the quiet, in fact, I almost prefer it.

Welcome back to the blogosphere!

I'm slowly recovering, inch by inch:-) Only 11 more months until the fun begins again!!!!

I know we all feel like that Eileen. Especially after celebrating such a Holy day as Christmas. And being together with family and friends. It can be a let down.

I missed you.

Do you remember Blue? My cat that passed away in November? Well Scooby his brother died today. I will always believe he died of heartbreak. He never recovered after Blue died. And so it goes, huh? I only have their mother left. She won't last much longer with both of them gone. It's beautiful to see the love they shared. Thanks for listening. :(

Eileen,

I feel a bit off balance and unfocused. It usually takes me a couple of weeks to settle back into a regular routine.

Happy New Year to you! ;-)
