Congratulations to T. Anne! My middle daughter picked your ballot. Please send me your snail mail address to eileenastels[at]rogers[dot]com for me to send this fun read out to you.
Thanks everyone who commented on my slush pile post. You guys are an awesome, encouraging, and wonderful bunch of blogging buddies! Have no fear, I am right back into finishing my current ms. The goal is to have it ready for conference too. Big goal, so I must stay focused.
The ROM was great yesterday with hubby. They only had fragments of a few of the Dead Sea Scrolls on exhibit and no pictures were aloud. But the wealth of information displayed was awesome, and we loved seeing so many other exhibits as well. The highlight of the day, though, was the flooding. Seriously, what took us one hour and twenty minutes to travel in the morning, took nearly four hours in the evening because of stalling cars and the highway getting flooded from a torrential downpour. AMAZING!! Like driving through a lake, and we could only that by squeezing into the left lane. Definite sewage or engineering issues in that part of the highway.
What's the weirdest thing you've ever experienced on one of your excursions?
Surrendering to Him,
Eileen

Oh, please send some of the rain our way! I do so love a downpour, and we're short on rain this season. The exhibit sounds neat!
PS. I can't believe I'm your first commentor. It's like finding the prize in the cereal box :D
I sat by a very odd lady on a plane once. She was swaying back and forth with her eyes closed and she was chanting. I was in 7th grade, so it really creeped me out.
My husband and I attract strangeness. The worst one was on a flight home. We'd been stuck in the airport for two hours due to weather delays. Then we board the crowded plane and the man in front of us was acting really weird. Sweating bullets, rambling about something. The plane taxied down and had to stop because he wouldn't settle down (this was in 2002, when air travel was still kind of scary). They turned around and escorted him off the plane. Then we all heard a ticking sound in the overhead compartment above my head.
It was someone's alarm clock!! When we finally got in the air, the turbulence was awful with thunder and lightning. Worst flight ever! I think all of the passengers needed therapy after!
We were in Omaha for a baseball tournament back in June, and I will not even attempt to list all of the crazy things that happened. Sorry about the flood, but other than that, it sounds like you had a great time. Keep us posted about your submissions! :)
We seem to attract traffic jams wherever we travel! Then again, we have to travel through Chicago area a lot, so maybe it's not us.
I started on my one sheet last night and so pulled yours up to use as a model!
I can't think of anything. I once went to the beach and walked so far that I abraded the bottom of my feet and couldn't walk for a few days. Does that count?
Congrats to T Anne!
I can't think of anything wierd off the top of my head. We travelled and sang alot as a family and once I booked a concert at a church two hours away. When we got there, they had forgotten to write it down, so weren't expecting us. They let us sing two songs anyway, so I hope it ministered to them.

Eeek! I hate those kind of downpours.
